Welcome

“As a monk, I am dedicated to inspiring spiritual awakening and personal growth. I love to practice and teach the powerful process of bhakti-yoga (the path of devotion). May the content of this website stimulate you to discover, to deeper understand and to apply the ancient wisdom of bhakti in your own day-to-day life!"

Krishna Premarupa Dasa

In this life, I was born in February 1977 in Zurich, Switzerland, as Christoph Earl Truttmann, and I grew up in a catholic environment. After travelling in Asia as a spiritual seeker, I came in contact with Buddhism and developed a desire to become a monk. Later, Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavad Gita led me to the path of Bhakti-Yoga in the tradition of Gaudiya Vaishnavism.

At 24, I decided to join the Krishna Temple in Zurich. After living for one year in Odhisa, India, to better understand the rich spiritual culture and lifestyle of Krishna Consciousness, I met my spiritual master, H.H. Bhakti Svarupa Damodara Swami. I received initiation from him in Imphal, Manipur, in December 2002.

Coming back to Switzerland, being a professional chef, I soon served as the head cook of the Krishna Temple in Zurich. After receiving Brahminical initiation in 2004,

I served mainly as a pujari (priest) and teacher for the novices.

In 2007, I became the temple president for ISKCON Zurich and served in this capacity for fourteen years (till October 2021). I have been a zonal supervisor for ISKCON Switzerland since 2011 and a GDO (Global Duty Officer) since 2019.

Besides my management responsibilities, I taught cooking classes, organized pilgrimages to India, and led Japa Meditation Retreats. Till today, I have been involved in various interfaith programs and ISKCON Communication activities.

My desire to study the holy scriptures deeply and share Srila Prabhupada's teachings inspired me to undergo various teacher training courses within ISKCON and the secular world. As a result, I now serve as a Bhakti Sastri and Bhakti Vaibhava teacher (systematic study of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam).

I am still based at the Krishna Temple in Zurich, but I also serve internationally at the ISKCON Ministry of Education (Books are the Basis) and other projects.
